Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This policy explains what data the Vesper app collects, why it is needed, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it.

Who Is Responsible

Vesper is an app operated from France. Whoever uses it, we decide what data the app collects and why — which makes us responsible for it under European data protection law.

For any question about this policy, about the data we hold about you, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to support@vespergame.app. We answer in the language you write in.

What We Collect

We collect only what the game needs to work:

  • Your email address, username, display name and avatar; your phone number if you choose to add one.
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account identifier and the email address attached to it.
  • Live video and audio while you are in a game.
  • Messages you send to other players.
  • Match history, rating, statistics by mode and role, and season awards.
  • Your country, if you set one on your profile.
  • Technical data: IP address, device model, operating system version, and diagnostics when something goes wrong.
  • A device token, so we can send you the notifications you asked for.
  • A record of what you bought. Card details never reach us.

Why We Are Allowed To Use It

European law requires us to say on what ground each use rests. Ours are these:

  • Running your account, matching you into games, carrying video and voice, delivering your messages, keeping ratings and seasons — because you asked us to provide the service.
  • Finding and fixing faults, and acting on reports of abuse between players — because we have a legitimate interest in a service that works and is safe to be in.
  • Sending push notifications — because you allowed it in your device settings. You can withdraw that at any time in the same place.
  • Keeping records of purchases — because we must, to deliver what you bought and to keep accounts.

You can object to any use that rests on our legitimate interest. See “Your Rights”.

Camera and Microphone

The app uses your camera and microphone during an active game so that other players can see and hear you in real time.

  • Nothing is written to disk — there is no recording function anywhere in the service.
  • No face recognition, voice identification, or any other biometric processing is performed.

Video and audio are not recorded or stored by us.

Log Data

When something goes wrong, we collect diagnostic data through a third-party tool so the fault can be found and fixed. This may include your IP address, device model, operating system version, and what the app was doing at the time.

Who Processes Data For Us

These companies handle data on our behalf. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

  • Supabase — database, sign-in, and avatar storage. Hosted in the European Union.
  • LiveKit — carries live video and audio between players. Runs on our own server in the European Union.
  • Sentry — diagnostics when the app fails.
  • RevenueCat — records subscriptions and purchases.
  • Google — sign-in with a Google account.
  • Expo — delivers push notifications.
  • Apple and Google — process payments. Your card details never reach us.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account, your messages and your match history are stored in the European Union. Live video and audio pass through our own server in the European Union and are not stored anywhere.

Some of the providers above may process limited technical data — such as crash diagnostics and purchase records — outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it is covered by the safeguards European law requires for such transfers.

How Long We Keep It

We are honest about this, including where the answer is “indefinitely”:

  • While your account exists: your profile, match history, messages and statistics are kept for as long as you keep the account. There is no automatic expiry.
  • Administrative records of moderator actions: 365 days, then deleted automatically.
  • After you delete your account: see “Account Deletion” below. Some of it is kept in anonymised form and is not deleted.
  • Records of purchases: for as long as accounting law requires.

Your Rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
  • have anything inaccurate corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it;
  • receive the data you gave us in a form you can take elsewhere;
  • object to any use that rests on our legitimate interest;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where a use rests on consent.

Write to support@vespergame.app. We answer within one month.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We are told what you bought, so we can deliver it. We never receive your payment details.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time: Settings → Delete Account. For 48 hours the deletion can be cancelled by signing in again.

After that the sign-in account is deleted and the profile is anonymised: email address, phone number, display name, and avatar are erased, and rating, statistics, awards, friends, and notifications are deleted. Match history and messages you sent are retained in anonymised form — without them the history of other players would break. Details are on the Account Deletion page.

Children's Privacy

The app is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we delete such an account if we learn of it.

Where local law sets a higher age at which a child may consent on their own, a parent or guardian must give or authorise that consent.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it last changed at the top.
